Yaropolk Vladimirovich became the Grand Duke of Kiev after his brother Mstislav. His reverence was restless: discord between the Manomakhovichs.
This was used by the sons of Oleg Svyatoslavich and started fighting with Manomakhovich for seniority.
The Polotsk princes also took advantage of these feuds and again occupied the Polotsk principality.
